Admission Eligibility - Class VI

The minimum and maximum age limit (as on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought) for admission in KSP, Sehore is given below: (Child born on 1st April should also be considered.)

Note:

  • The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in case of Differently abled children by the State/UT Societies, case to case basis under intimation to NESTS.
  • As per Hostel Byelaws 1966-67, opportunity of re-admission is given to failed students studying in special Schools i.e. KSP and MRS only.

Class Strength and Competent Authorities

KSP, Sehore have 2 sections in class VI with a total sanctioned strength of 60 @ 30 students per class. The total sanctioned strength of a fully functional KSP, Sehore shall not exceed 480 students.

Children of staff of KSPs/CES/Doctors/Paramedical staff of Government Hospital serving in the same block:
  • Over and above the sanctioned strength of 30 students per section per Class with the restriction of maximum 40 students in one section.
  • This facility shall be extended to only eldest two surviving children.
  • The principal is authorized to admit the children of staff in the respective KSPs/CES where the parent is working and Doctors/Paramedical Staff of Government Hospital working in the same block.
  • No additional financial implications are to be borne by KSPs or State Government. Since no fee is prescribed in KSP Scheme, the same shall not be charged from these students.
  • Exception: These children, if eligible/qualify, are allowed to participate in competitions/events (Sports/Cultural etc.) organized by KSPs/ State or UT EMRS/NESTS/MOTA. The expenditure shall be met out of the fund released by State government.
Notes:
  1. *It includes citizens victims of LWE and Police/paramilitary/ Armed forces personnel who have lost their lives fighting LWE.
  2. # Admission against the land donor quota will be given in that particular KSP wherein the donor has donated the land.
  3. 5% i.e., 3 seats out of 60 seats are reserved for children with benchmark disability. These seats shall be carved out @ 2 seats from ST and 1 seat from others.
  4. If Candidates are not available either under (iv) a,b and c or (iv) d, the seats may be filled from any category of (iv) on merit.

Admission for Class VI

Admission to class VI shall be made strictly on the basis of an entrance test called Madhya Pradesh Special And Residential School Selection Test (MPSRSST). The candidates desirous to get admission in KSP, Sehore have to appear and qualify MPSRSST.

3.1 Admission Announcement

MPSARAS shall notify students about admission to the new session through wide publicity by means of Doordarshan/ All India Radio/ website/web portal, MPSARAS websites, local newspapers, pamphlets etc.

3.2 Procedure to Register for MPSRSST

  • The candidates belonging to the reservation categories mentioned at reservation table of a Block/District/States/UTs are eligible to apply for MPSRSST.
  • Registration forms can be filled through the online mode.
  • For online registration, MPSARAS shall have to make the registration form available at MPTAASC portal running in their State/ UT along with ample time to fill the registration forms. Special measures to be taken to ensure the registration of eligible students.
  • The list of Exam centers for MPSRSST are also to be displayed at the designated websites/web-portal and the websites.
  • In all KSP help desk will be available to assist the candidates/parents to fill online registration form free of cost.
  • Verification of proofs for residence, age, eligibility etc. shall be done for selected candidates by the KSP where the child shall be admitted after the declaration of results & provisional list of selected candidates by MPSARAS.

3.3 Issue of Admit Cards

The admit cards will be made available as per schedule decided by MPSARAS which will be displayed on MPTAASC portal. Registered students can download the admit card through MPTAASC portal by providing their DOB and Application number, while KSP which are also exam centers be given the list of students appearing for MPSRSST in their school. As far as possible, the Exam center nearest to the residence of the candidate will be allotted.

3.4 Result of the MPSRSST

The result of MPSRSST shall be announced on State MPSARAS Society website/MPTAASC web portal. The result will also be displayed on the websites of:

  • Ministry of Tribal Affairs
  • National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS)
  • KSPs running in the state
  • Nodal Principal/ Officer of the state

3.5 Notification of Selected Candidates

The Principal concerned, shall inform the selected candidates about the result through SMS on the registered mobile number followed by an intimation through call on contact numbers provided while filling application form.

3.6 Provisional Admission List

A provisional admission list (and waiting list(s), if required), based on MPSRSST shall be released by the MPSARAS. The admission in KSP however shall be granted to provisionally selected candidates on production & verification of required documents by the concerned KSP. Candidates are advised to apply for TC/ SLC from parent school only after the verification of documents and confirmation of admission by the respective KSPs.

3.7–3.15 Additional Provisions

  1. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Commissioner Tribal Affairs/Secretary, MPSARAS shall be final and binding on the candidates.
  2. After the entrance examination, a district-wise selection list is prepared and on the basis of merit, students should be given admission in the district of which they are residents.
  3. If more students are selected than the vacant places in the admission list, then such students should be given admission in the nearby district schools.
  4. In the districts where less number of students are selected than the vacant seats, such districts should be filled from the selected students of the neighboring districts.
  5. The candidates and their parents/guardians may note that the children will be admitted strictly as per the Merit list prepared based on MPSRSST and in the allotted KSP only.
  6. The candidate must furnish five preferences for admission in respect of the KSP running in their state. Under no circumstances, the selected candidate will be given admission to any other KSP.
  7. No request for shifting of students on account of residence in a particular district, medium of instruction in the KSP concerned, shifting of parents/guardians to other districts / States etc. will be entertained.
  8. There shall be likelihood (but no guarantee) of admission of a candidate in the block/taluka/tehsil/district of her residence as per Merit list of MPSRSST. If a candidate, on the basis of the merit list, is eligible for admission in the KSP other than five preferential KSP, then she shall be granted admission in that school in accordance with her position in the Merit List.
  9. Candidates belonging to the reservation categories as mentioned in the reservation table across the State are eligible to apply for admission in any of KSP irrespective of the fact that whether a KSP is running in their block/taluka/tehsil/district of residence or not. However, the admission will be solely on the merit only.
  10. Incomplete application forms shall normally be rejected.
  11. Admission secured on the basis of any wrong certificate shall be cancelled by the principal forthwith and no appeal against such action of the principal shall be considered.
  12. No students from higher class (than class V) should be allowed to appear for entrance/admission test in class VI nor be allowed to take admission in Class VI and if any such case is found then admission will be cancelled immediately.

Composition of the Test

The MPSRSST will be conducted in off-line mode, of two-hour duration with 100 objective type questions from 3 sections for a total of 100 marks. The medium of instruction for the Examination shall be English & Hindi or Bilingual.

4.1 Test Booklet

A single test booklet comprising of all the three sections will be given to each candidate. There shall be no syllabus for MPSRSST. The Question Paper of MPSRSST will be based on Competencies in accordance with the Level prescribed for Class V students by NCERT/ SCERT/ CBSE.

4.2 Extra Time for Divyang Students

Additional time of 30 minutes will be allowed for “Divyang students” who are blind or whose writing speed is affected due to their disability.

4.3 Use of Scribe

The Blind candidates are allowed to take help of scribe (Reader/Writer) in the MPSRSST. The scribe should be one grade junior to the candidate. If the blind candidate has difficulty to bring his own scribe, it will be the responsibility of exam center superintendent to provide the help of a scribe who must have the proper ability of reading and writing in the exam.

Documentation Required

The candidates who are provisionally selected for admission will have to submit the requisite documents, as demanded by the KSP, at the time of admission for verification. MPSARAS shall inform the candidates at the time of registration and display of the provisional list about the documents required. Below is the mandatory list:

  • Date of Birth Certificate issued by competent authority (Municipality, Panchayat, Military Hospital, etc.).
  • Aadhar Card/Number (admission will not be denied in its absence; assistance will be provided for procurement).
  • Domicile/ Reservation category certificate.
  • Service certificate of parents (for children of staff of EMRS/KSP/MRS/CES/Doctors/Paramedical staff of Govt. hospitals).
  • Disability certificate, if applicable.
  • Report card of the preceding class, or affidavit for students who studied at home.
  • Medical checkup report of provisionally selected students.
  • Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate from the previous school.
  • Bonafide Certificate/self-declaration for students without prior formal schooling.
  • Any other document required by MPSARAS Society.

Lateral Entry in KSP (Classes VII – IX and XI)

Admission for Classes VII – IX and XI is allowed subject to availability of vacancies, based on the following conditions:

  • Age criteria as per admission rules.
  • Should have studied the previous class in a Govt./Govt.-aided/recognized school, CBSE-affiliated school, or equivalent (NIOS Level C for Class IX).
  • Home-schooled students eligible for Classes VII & VIII (with parent self-declaration).
  • The student must not have been rusticated from any school.
Entrance Test (MPSRSLT)

Admission is granted on the basis of the MPSRSLT (Madhya Pradesh Special & Residential School Lateral Entry Test). The exam is offline, 3 hours, with both objective & descriptive questions, based on NCERT/SCERT textbooks. Total: 100 questions for 200 marks.

Class XI Admission Policy

  1. No entrance test; admission based on Class X marks/CGPA.
  2. Streams available:
    • Science (Mathematics) – 30 seats
    • Science (Biology) – 30 seats
    • Commerce – 30 seats
    • Humanities (Arts) – 30 seats
  3. KSP Class X students get automatic admission to Class XI (stream allocation on merit).
  4. 5% extra weightage for KSP students in merit calculation.
  5. Merit criteria vary by stream (aggregate + subject marks + expressed interest).
  6. Merit list prepared jointly for KSP & external ST students; admission offered until seats are filled.
  7. State Board/ICSE/NIOS students may also apply if vacancies exist.

Special Provisions

  • Children of EMRS/KSP/MRS staff get admission over and above prescribed strength (only eldest two children eligible).
  • No financial implications borne by MPSARAS/NESTS/MoTA for such admissions.
  • If insufficient registrations, reserved seats may be de-reserved as per rules.
  • Wide publicity, awareness drives, and special admission campaigns may be conducted to fill vacant seats.
